2.10

With the Tuesday before spring break being the last time I was at the kwoon, I have not been outside much, not even in my own backyard. For most people, this would lead to lots of boredom and some people would probably lose their minds. That isn't the case for me, mostly because I have basically turned my brain off and not have to worry of getting homework. It has been quite relaxing, actually. Having two weeks off has let me reset, in a way. With spring break now over, online school is starting which will be interesting to say the least, so I will probably be talking about my thoughts on online school next week.

2.9

With the Kwoon closed for classes, the amount of information that passed from the instructor to the student will most likely diminish. While it will not go away entirely, some of the students will not attend classes online, making the amount of questions being asked and overall understanding of the lesson go down. That happening is unfortunate, but very likely to happen. Some of the students may have a very justifiable reason for not making it to class, whether it is an internet issue or an issue that requires attention in general. That will only account for part of it. Others may not know what is happening due to them not being on Kwoon talk. Others may have already made plans, which is normal for us to do. There are many different reasons someone might not make it to an online class, and the only thing we can do is see if we can help them get into those classes.

Cleanliness is an important part of our everyday lives. It is even more important when there is a new virus going around, with it's main way of spreading being through human contact. With that being said, it is important that we be as clean as we can be, not only for ourselves, but for everyone else as well. As I am writing this, all schools in Alberta have been cancelled due to the virus. This is the second non-scheduled break this year. Not just the school year, but just in 2020. That goes to show that we need to be prepared for the unpredictable. Does this mean going out and buying 15 bags of toilet paper? No. It means that you should have what you need, maybe a little bit more, but that's it. You can't forget about others. It's seems as if our community has forgotten all about empathy and what it means to be a good human, and they're only focused on themselves and no one else. We need to do what we can to make sure that a good civilization isn’t completely forgotten and abandoned in times like this.

2.7

When your mind isn't in the right place it can be very difficult to do something. It gets more difficult when what you're trying to do is much more mentally challenging than physically challenging. This corresponds with intent. If your mind isn't on what you're doing, you have the wrong intent, or no intent at all. When you have no intent, your eye for detail diminishes. You aren't able to see what you can improve on, as you have no intent behind it. When you have no intent, you are doing something just to do it. Not to improve or see what you can improve on. We can always improve on something, whether we know what it is or not. With the right intent and our mind in the right place, we will find what we can improve on.

Year 2 Week 6

Involvement. It's important. Whether it is as simple as a "." on someones post, or going out and doing something for/with our fellow classmates. I do what I can to be very involved with the school. Can I do more? Probably. What I do feels good though. Spending 5 nights a week at the kwoon and 2 nights at home is perfect for me. I don't have much else to do, so I help out at Kung Fu. It helps me stay involved, which we all need to be. The more involved you are, the more likely you are to succeed. We all want to succeed.
