Tomorrow is technically my first day of Grade 10 but I don't have actual classes until Wednesday. This will probably be my last post about school for awhile, because once things get going everything will hopefully start to make sense. From now on I will be shifting most of my focus onto my grading, as that is going to be one of my highest priorities for awhile. The black belt grading is something that I've looked forward to and been slightly worried about for a long time. But now that it's less than a month away, it feels like I have a very small amount of time to re-learn everything that I've been taught over the past 12 years. All I can do is train as much as I can.

This upcoming week is the last week I have before high school. I know that high school was going to be different from middle school, but adding in covid changes it even more. I feel like that there is going to be a lot of people being dumb, which is expected because they're teenagers, but I still don't know why they act the way they do. It just doesn't make sense to me. But what can I do about them? Nothing. So I'll just do my best to avoid them and stay safe. All I've been able to focus on lately is high school. There is just so much that I still don't know about what is going to happen, what my classes are going to be like, and how long this school year will last. I don't really have anything else to say.

The first public demo of the year was a great experience. For some it was their first demo, and for others it was a bit of a kick-start. I personally saw the demo as a great way to become a better team. Most of us got to experience what it's like for Team Rat to do a demo. From what I can tell, everything worked fairly well. Personally, I could've done better. I messed up my form at the same place I did while practicing the demo at the kwoon. Of course before and after were just fine, but not when it needed to be perfect. I don't have much else to say other than I hope I can't wait for the next demo that we do.

With school starting in a few weeks, a lot is till unknown. As of writing this, I don't know when the school day starts/ends, my schedule makes very little sense, and other things like that. For the time being, I will be attending school in person. Unfortunately there are enough people that believe Covid is fake that I believe it is only a month or two until schools get shut down again. Saying that sucks, but it's most likely what will happen. I will be following all the protocols and encouraging others o do so as well, but there is only so much that I can do. My mind is all over the place right now, especially on the thought of going back to school.

The little meetup we had on Sunday about how to read a person has been floating around in my mind thinking about what we discussed. One of the best ways to read a person is by understanding what different body movements and postures represent. If your gut tells you something is wrong, go with it. It's better to take extra precautions and not need them instead of not having enough precautions and having disaster strike. If you're at a bank and you see someone "scouting" the building out, it could be because they're figuring out how to rob it. It's sad to say that in today's world, it is safest to expect the worst out of everyone. That way you're prepared for the worst and ready to help out if needed. All we really need to stop this is by everyone having common sense. Unfortunately common sense is becoming more uncommon.
