4.13 (May 1)

I’ve noticed a big difference in quality between the forms I’ve done for I Ho Chuan and the forms that I haven’t. This shouldn’t come as much of a surprise but it is surprising how long it’s taken me notice this. The forms that I have done (18 Temple Motions, Lao Gar, and Hung) are of much higher quality than the others. There’s an exception to this however, with that being Da Mu Hsing. Da Mu Hsing makes sense to be an exception because it is one of the most practiced forms in class and is one of the forms that I’ve known for the longest. I now know first hand that even though focusing on my I Ho Chuan form is important, I can’t forget to do all my other forms to keep them at an almost comparable level. This gives me some insight on how I need to change my practicing habits to improve on my quality of Kung Fu. I will explore this for the rest of the year, and most likely put it into my requirements for next year.

4.12 (April 24)

 This will be a blog about blogging. 


As some may have noticed, my blogging hasn’t been consistent this year. I’ve had troubles with weekly blogs every year, but this year has been the worst so far. Every week that I don’t post a blog, I put a draft up as a reminder. As of writing this, I have 10 drafts. That is 10 weeks worth of blogging that I haven’t done. This is something that I want to change. Every single day for the next week, I will be putting out a blog. I will do this until I start Summer School on July 4th. This will be 8 blogs (including this one), getting me a lot closer to being on track with the I Ho Chuan requirements. I will still be 2 blogs behind, but 2 is a lot easier to manage than 10 is. If I don’t put out a blog during the day, then I want to be held accountable when at Kung Fu. If you see me and I haven’t put out a blog yet that day, please approach me and ask about it. If I can’t tell you about my general outline of that day’s blog, then we will both know that I failed for that day.
