On Friday I finished Grade 10, and I now have the next two months to boost my amount and quality of training. This is an opportunity I've had for all of my life, but I haven't taken advantage of them like I plan on doing for this Summer and as many Summers in the future as I can. One of the things I'm looking forward to the most about this time is getting to work on my Sword form for long periods of time. Right now, my form is about half as long as I want it to be, so being able to work on it for hours on end will help me be able to figure out more techniques and combinations that work well and fit what I want to do.

This past week of classes being back in the kwoon was a good reminder for me about what will be coming in the future, which is the worry about Covid becoming less and less. I hope to see this happen sooner rather than later, but with the rate of restrictions being removed I think we might have to see another short shutdown before then. I hope not, but I think it's likely. I'll still wear my mask for a bit after the mandate is lifted, because I'd rather not take the chance of catching anything and spreading it to other people. This shouldn't affect my training too much, as most of my training is at home and with my family, and no restrictions would change that.

Within the next two weeks, I will have finished my first year in high school. That sounds weird to say, since I'm usually the youngest one in the group outside of school. and since the school year is about to be over, I will soon be able to divert all of my time onto Kung Fu, and I'll be able to spend the same amount of time on something, but I can cover more topics now with the extra time. This will be really helpful for my training, and also my fitness. I'm looking forward to being able to spend as much time during the day as i want doing Kung Fu.

For the past bit I have diverted almost all of my attention onto just my technique, because I have found that I am lacking in quality on several techniques. This is has been the most obvious in my Roundhouse kicks, where I found that my kicks were very sloppy and were more of a Dragons Whip. To improve on this I have slowed my kicks down a bit, allowing me to focus more on the technique and less on speed/power. Once I get my technique back to where it needs to be I'll start to focus on those too more, but until then I'll keep adjusting my kick until it's perfect.
